"Ugh..." you groan as you reach over to your nightstand to pick up the phone. you looked at the time and quickly ignored the call, even though it was Jade,one of your best friends,'4:13 am...who the hell calls at 4:13 am?' you think, rolling over on your side. You were just about to fall back asleep when the phone rings again,'WHAT THE HELL!?' you think and pick up the phone,"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!"
"_____!_____! Oh my god guess what!" she sounded really excited.
"What is it jade?" you ask trying not to sound irritated.
"Its Karkat's twenty-first birthday!" she shouts,"We have to get him something!"
"Why should we? You know he'll just find something bad to say about it anyways. Did you forget that he's a professional in douchebagery?" you said.
"Oh, come on,_____. Nobody celebrates his birthday..."
"Gee, i wonder why. Can i get some sleep now?"
"No. You have to be nice to the poor guy before i can let you sleep."
"But i hate him with a passion! Everyone knows that!" you protest,"He hates me back, too. Do you really wanna ruin his birthday by having me stick around all day?"
"Oh, right. I forgot. Sorry for waking you up so early." You could tell by the tone in her voice that she was disappointed.
"Im sorry Jade, but i dont think its a good idea for me to be around on his birthday. It's probably safer if i kept my distance from him. Can i go back to sleep now?"
"Yeah, i guess. But if you change your mind, there'll be a party at John's place at 10:00 pm. I'm sure Karkat is looking forward to this party."
"Yeah, sure, whatever," you mumbled into the phone.

"Goodbye,Jade!" you shouted at the phone,holding it over the nightstand and quickly hanging up. Normally you'd feel bad about that but four fifteen in the morning is your 'i regret nothing' phase of the day. You put the cellphone down and pulled the covers over your head and fell back to sleep.
A few hours later, you woke up and went to work. The long hours didn't take your mind off of picturing Karkat drunk for the first time. You kept giggling the entire day, thinking of the rage that must take place,'haha, i've gotta see this.' you think when you leave your workplace.
On your way home, you stop by John's house and step out onto the yard and feel the ground rumbling with the loudness of the music. You sigh before you open the door to stop yourself from laughing. You open the door and gasp at the sight of Gamzee and Dave downing Jack Daniel's and five other people chanting 'chug chug chug', Sollux dancing on a coffee table, and Terezi asking forgiveness from a torn up scalemate. But the most shocking thing was seeing John trying to kiss Karkat.
"John! John, stop! You're drunk!" he shouted,"I thought you weren't a homosexual!"
Karkat seemed like he was the only one there who wasn't drunk. Oh how wrong you were.
"_____! What are you doing here!?" He shouted when he saw you at the front door and pushed John to the ground.
"H-hi Karkat," you said nervously, as he stormed over to you,"Whats up?"
"You!" his voice showed he was clearly drunk,"You're not welcome here!"
"You're drunk!"
"You're sexy," He said with a smile.
"You don't mean that!" you yell with shock in your voice and run out onto the front yard when he leaped at you. You were getting frightened. He didn't mean that...right? You half hoped he did and nearly slapped yourself. What the hell were you thinking? You hated him and he hated you!
The next morning you decide to go for a long walk through the park nearby your house. You sat down on the grass and listened to the birds and street performers when you felt a hand on your shoulder. It cought you by surprise and you jumped before you turned around to see who it was,"Karkat!"
"Hey,____." He said sitting down next to you in the green grass. You looked at im closely and saw that he had a few bruises on his cheeks.
"What happened to you!?" you said, touching his cheek and pulling away,"not that i care,"
"John and i got into a fight..."

"Listen im really sorry about last night," he seemed to ignore your question,"I dont know what i was thinking when i tried to kiss you...i guess i was just-"
